A reflection of the year that was 2022.
As 2021 comes to a close, I look back at the year that was.
Freedom Day. It's hard to believe to we were in lockdown for 106 days. 15 weeks. 3.5 months. One quarter of a year. It’s been a struggle but we’ve got through it. Here are some of the ways I found the light in lockdown.
Lately, I have been thinking a lot about development and identity. This is likely because of all the reading I have been doing on child development as I try to look for guidance on how I could raise my little one.
Last month in celebration of International Mother Language Day, my son's daycare asked us to how to say "hello" and "good bye" in our mother language to include into their program. So in the spirit of parental participation, I responded with "suosdei" and "leahaey" for the greetings in Khmer (Cambodian).
After over a year of going with the flow and having a less structured approach to life, allowing for the unpredictability of having a baby, this year I am working to refocus and revive my passions and qualities that have shaped who I am. Here are the habits I have been working on to help live my theme.
After the write off of 2020, I have taken some thought on my theme to live by for 2021.
2020. It had a nice ring to it. The start of a new decade sounded like a fresh start and new beginnings. It seemed promising, but the universe had other plans.
