Last month a surprise dinner was organised to celebrate Geelong’s birthday. It was a very low-key event in the intimate restaurant, Sashimi Shinsengumi in Crows Nest.
Japanese whiskey to compliment the sushi
Handcrafted by chef Shinji Matsui, the sushi omakase experience was like none other. The fish was amazingly fresh and so skilfully prepared. There were so many courses I could not even fit it all in - gotta leave some room for dessert! Who ever knew that you could get so full from sushi? Thankfully no sushi went to waste as the chef kindly packed my leftover pieces for takeaway.
